Introducing your committee for 2014

Picture
Rachael Stewart - Chairman

I have owned Highland Ponies for around 10 years.  I currently own 2 ponies, Fiadh of Kirkcarrion, and Adrnagaisk Amos.  Over the years Fiadh and I have taken part in Showing, Endurance riding, Dressage, and Le Trec.  Amos and I have recently taken up carriage driving and hope to take part in some driving trials next year.

I have recently joined the committee and am looking forward to helping with club events. I've mostly been involved in showing but I'm hoping to try some xc and endurance riding with my gelding, Burnside Xavier.

My name is Ailsa Docherty. I have been involved with highland ponies most of my life but seriously for last 10years. I have a highland pony Ailsa of Mendick who I have had for 7years. Have enjoyed doing showing, endurance, working hunter, le trec and some common rides.

I have owned and successfully competed highland ponies since 2002 and bred my first foal in 2011. My love for the breed has only become stronger over the years due to being given some amazing opportunities to purchase and compete some fantastic, well bred ponies.

I have been involved with native ponies most of my life, starting off riding Shetlands and gradually moving up onto Highlands as I got older. Highland Ponies won my heart and I have stuck with them ever since having been lucky enough to ride some really fantastic ponies over the last twenty or so years. It was always my dream to buy a Highland Pony foal and in 2012 I bought my dream pony Rebus of Fourmerk. As all horsey people know, one is never enough and a year later I ended up buying Rebus' full brother Royal Strathearn of Fourmerk (Harris). I'm having loads of fun and success showing the boys in hand and Harris is now backed and riding away while Rebus is coming on well with his ground work. The plan is to do a bit of everything with them both but sticking close to my love of showing.
