The 2024 CSHPC Grand Final of In-hand Champions Entry is free to any registered Highland Pony that has been awarded Champion or Reserve Champion in the In-Hand section of an HPS affiliated show during 2024. Please state clearly on the entry form which show the pony qualified at. Champion: £50 & sash Reserve: £25 & rosette Best Younstock: £25 and rosette Rosette to all finalists forward Class 13: The Highland Pony Society Youngstock Championship (will be judged after the Supreme Show championship) All entrants who choose to compete in this Youngstock Championship at Central Scotland Highland Pony Club Show should email a copy of their qualification card to the Secretary at the address in this schedule. – [email protected] Entry to this Final is free* and all ponies exhibited at the Finals will be presented with a finalist rosette by the HPS. The Champions and Reserves will receive rosettes and prize money of £100 and £50 respectively and all those forward at the finals will receive £15 and a finalist rosette from the H.P.S. A sash and perpetual trophy will be awarded to the Champion. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- RIDDEN CLASSES – JUDGING STARTS 10.00am RING 2 Note - Ponies must be four years old and over in all the ridden sections Unaffiliated classes Class 14 - Unaffiliated Walk and Trot - (Ponies just starting ridden career) Class 15 - Veteran Rider (50 yrs or over on day of show) Class 16 - Veteran Ridden Pony (Stallion, Mare, Gelding, 15 yrs or over) Affiliated classes Class 17 - Ridden Nursery Novice Class 18 - Ridden Novice, under 14hh (under 143cm) Class 19 - Ridden Novice, 14h & over (over 143cm but not exceeding 148 cm) Novice Ridden Championship (1st & 2nd Prize winners) – Classes 17 to 19 Ponies in classes 14 to 16 must be shown in a snaffle bridle. The judge will not ride Classes 17 to 19 Class 20 - Ridden Open - under 14hh (under 143cm) Class 21 - Ridden Open 14hh and over but not exceeding 14.2hh (Over 143cm but not exceeding 148cm) Please note the judge will NOT ride the ponies in this section 7 Open Ridden Championship (1st & 2nd Prize winners) – Classes 20 and 21 Overall Ridden Championship Supreme Show Championship for the HPS Bronze Medal (In-Hand Champion, Reserve In-Hand Champion, Open Ridden Champion and Novice Ridden Champion are eligible to compete.) To be judged on completion of both In-Hand & Open Ridden Championships in Ring 1. Class 22. The CSHPC Ridden Champion of Champions Final 2024 Entry is free to any registered Highland Pony that has been awarded Champion or Reserve Champion in a Ridden Highland Pony or M&M (Novice, Intermediate or Open) section of an HPS or NPS affiliated show during 2024. The class will be run as a normal show class but each competitor must show the following movements in their individual show:

Junior tack and turnout Class 24 Young Handler – 18yr and under. To be judged on handler's presentation, ability and showing technique. Class 25. Young Rider – 18 yr and under. To be judged on rider's presentation, riding ability and showing technique. WORKING HUNTER – starts after junior section RING 3 Open to all registered or unregistered ponies aged 5 or over– (only registered Highland ponies will be eligible for the Championship) Ponies may enter up to two Working Hunter classes provided they are eligible. Class 22. Nursery Novice Working Hunter – jumps max 60cm (ponies never to have been placed 1st – 3rd in any Intermediate or Open Working Hunter class prior to 1st January 2024) Class 23. Novice Working Hunter – jumps max 70cm (ponies never to have been placed 1st – 3rd in any Open Working Hunter class prior to 1st January 2024) Class 24. Intermediate Working Hunter– jumps max 75cm Working Hunter Championship (1st & 2nd Prize winners – Classes 20 - 22 ) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- DRESSAGE – JUDGING 9.30 AM – 2.00 PM (break for lunch 12 noon for 30 mins) (Self Stewarding) Open to all registered or unregistered ponies Class 26 BD Intro 1 (2024) – This is an unaffiliated class to encourage ponies at the very beginning of their dressage career. It is preferred that ponies who have previously entered Prelim should not compete in this Intro class. Class 27. BD Prelim 1 (2024) Class 28. BD Novice 1 (2024) Trophies Test sheets available from www.britishdressage.co.uk. RULES 1 Unless otherwise specified, only Highland Ponies or their progeny on the HPS Full Register or the A, B, or C Appendices can be entered for any competition. Height of ponies must not exceed 14.2hh. (148cms). This rule is not applicable to classes in the Unaffiliated section, dressage classes or working hunter classes although breed type will be taken into consideration as part of judging in this section. 2 No animal suffering from an infectious disease will be allowed to compete, and such animal must be removed if a steward so directs. 3 Stock must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor. 4 No substitution of entries. 5 Neither the Show Committee nor landowner will be liable for any damage or loss to person, animals or property which exhibitors or public may sustain at the show. 6 Protests, along with £25, (which may be forfeited if the protest is dismissed), must be lodged with the Secretary in writing within 1 hour of the judging of that particular class. Verbal protests will not be considered. 7 Competitors entering more than one class accept the risk that timings may conflict. Classes will not be delayed for competitors in other rings. 8 The Show Committee have the right to combine or split classes if numbers so dictate. 9 The decision of the Show Committee shall be final on all matters regarding the show. 10 The decision of any judge shall be final regarding the judging of their class. 11 No Highland Pony bred by, or ever owned by, the Judge may enter. 12 The WHP classes will be judged in accordance with the National Pony Society Rules. 13 Behaviour by any Exhibitor deemed unsporting or unreasonable by the Committee may cause all rosettes/prizes/trophies to be forfeited. 14 The Show Committee reserve the right to refuse entries without an explanation. 15 All Colts and Stallions over 2 years old must be shown bitted. All over 4 years old must have an HPS Stallion Licence. 16 Young Handlers must wear correctly secured British Standard Skull Caps or Riding Hats. 17 All mounted competitors must wear correctly secured British Standard Riding Hats at all times whilst mounted. STANDARD DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY Save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of any event to which these rules apply, nor Central Scotland Highland Pony Club or any agent, employee or representative of these bodies accepts liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, ponies, owners, riders, spectators, land or any other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. Any participant who is not a member of CSHPC or British Riding Club is required to have their own insurance prior to competing at this event.
