2018 - AGM

15/3/2018

This years AGM was held again at Strathallan Castle on Friday 23rd February 2018, with the kind permission of Anna Roberts, who this year became the Chairwoman.

It was a fantastic turn out with lots of members new and old, catching up with each other, before it quickly got down to business.

The first thing to change this year was a questionnaire that will help the club pin down what it's members interests are and if  there is anything they would like to do in addition to the planned events this year.

It was agreed that the Spring Show will go ahead at Netherton Equestrian, Bridge of Earn on Saturday 28th April 2018 and entries would go live within a couple of weeks. It was also agreed that the Summer show would again be held at Strathallan Castle in September.

Unfortunately the one day event did not happen last year, however there are plans to run a joint event with the Pony Club, so fingers crossed the event will run this year.

Similarly, the performance awards did not run last year and therefore we start them again this year. So make sure you download your record cards and keep a note of all you activities for the year ahead.

There was a huge thank you to John Litster, Lynne Alexander, Shona Barrie and Jackie Coull who all stood down from the committee having served the club over the previous few years.

The new committee members were elected as follows:-

Chairwoman - Anna Roberts
Vice Chiar - Norma Gillon
Treasurer - Robin Gillon
Secretary - Gilian Docherty
Members Secretary - Carol-Anne McCulloch
Show Secretary - Jill Vasey
Website/Facebook - Rosie Reid
Training - Rebecca Chalmers
Lisa Allison
Catriona Lackie

We then had a very informative presentation from Julie Hanna from the British Horse Society regarding the possibility of joining the British Riding Clubs and various BHS initiatives.

This was all followed by some yummy soup, sandwiches and cakes. Yum, yum.

We all left looking forward to the year ahead, thankful that the Beast from the East had finally left us !
