Unfortunately, due to rain of monsoon proportions, we had to postpone the fun day that was planned for this weekend. Full credit to Rachael, who was up and about making calls at 6am on the day of this event!
The coming weeks are very busy with agricultural and other major shows. Finding a slot to accommodate this event is going to be a challenge, but we will see what we can do. Watch this space for more details... Meanwhile, we hope to see you all at the ride out on the 11th of August at Scone. The CSHPC Fun Day kicks off tomorrow at Strathallan. We are expecting 29 ponies, and have 55 bodies booked in for lunch.
The weather forecast is looking a little bit soggy (to say the least!) so if you are coming, make sure that you pack wet weather gear. Hopefully, it will be kind to us! We look forward to seeing you all, it is sure to be great fun regardless of the weather. If for any reason you are unable to take your slot, please ensure that you drop Rachael a line on [email protected] . This way we can accommodate any gaps into timings. The CSHPC Committee had a very constructive meeting last night.
We are very excited about our upcoming events, kicking off with the Fun Day this weekend at Strathallan. This day is now fully booked, we are expecting 29 ponies to participate in mock showing, dressage, working hunter and Le Trec. In August, we have a ride out at Scone Palace. Currently there is still space at this event, but members are advised to book their space ASAP in order to ensure a place. The route starts at Blairhall farm and will go through Scone Estate, taking in beautiful old parkland and alongside the River Tay. September will see our annual show, schedules are available for this event now. September will also see a cross country training day, and one day event at Kirkton Farm. Full details are available for these events on the website. If you have any queries please don't hesitate to drop us a line via the contacts page. A huge well done to everybody who competed at the HPS breed show this week. A number of our members had great results, none more so than Alice Page and Trowan Monty, who took the HOYS ticket.
Full results are available here: http://www.highlandponysociety.com/fileadmin/user_upload/Downloadables/Results/Breed_Show_Results_2013.pdf I hope you are all recovered from your exertions at the breed show yesterday. Just a reminder that on Sunday 28th of July CSHPC is having a members 'have a go day' at Strathallan.
The idea of this day is to give members the chance to bring their ponies out and try something new. It will be ideal for young ponies needing a nice first outing too. You will have the chance to have a bash at le trec, working hunter, a ridden showing class, and dressage....without the pressure of being at a show. You can choose to do certain things...or everything if you fancy. An equine weigh bridge will be in attendance, so it is an ideal chance to have your pony weighed. A BBQ lunch will be available too, so lets hope this good weather holds out! For more information, please contact Rachael at [email protected] . CSHPC is going strong, we currently have more than 80 members!
This week, we sent out a mailing to all of the members on our membership database. This included information on the events which we have upcoming. If you have not received this email, and think that you should be included on this list, please email Membership Secretary Gemma Thomson at [email protected] . Some people have paid, but not provided membership forms. If we have not had a form, then chances are you will have been missed off. Thanks! Please see CSHPC Dates - Schedules and Forms for the schedule and entry form.
